Philodendron
Philodendrons are considered an easy care plant with both
hanging and bush varieties available. The Golden Pothos, a
popular vining pilo, will stay full and leafy when new growth
is trimmed.
Lighting: Bright North or sunny East window or similar
brightness near West window.
Water: Keep evenly moist - slightly dry. It can stand
neglect but repeated periods soggy wetness or
extreme dryness will damage root system.
Dracaenas will grow in a bush or tree form, the most common
being the dracaena marginata. As the plant matures the stalks
will grow upright and keep their foliage on the top of the stalk
while the lower foliage will drop; creating a very interesting and
unique plant.
Lighting: Ideal location is a sunny East or West window or
bright North window, or similar brightness a few
feet from a South window.
Water: Keep evenly moist - slightly dry. It can stand

extreme dryness will damage root system.
Chinese Evergreen
Chinese Evergreens or Aglaonema is a low
growing durable plant featuring silvery or dark
green foliage.
Lighting: Lower light levels out of direct
sunshine are best.
Water: Evenly moist - slightly dry.
Peace lily also known as Spathiphyllum grow in a bush form.
They feature large deep green foliage and will produce a beautiful
white calla lily shaped flower.
Lighting: Bright light of north window, or a few feet from a
sunny east, south or west window. Mature plant
will tolerate low light up to six months but should
then be moved to adequate light. It needs
brighter light to produce flowers.
Water: Evenly moist. It is best to wet the plant
thoroughly and then let the top of the soil dry out
to the touch about 2” down. Do not allow plant to
wilt down as it will cause root damage.
English Ivy
Hanging Ivies are a very popular, elegant and
graceful easy to grow plant. They should be
trimmed back to keep full and attractive.
Lighting: Bright North window or a sunny
East or West exposure is best.
not allow to dry out completely.
Thrives in humid conditions.
Schefflera
Scheffleras grow in both tree and bush varieties. Blackened,
shriveled, or dead lead tips are a sign of over-watering.
Lighting: Ideal is bright light and some direct sun near an
East, South, or West window.
Water: Water well then wait until surface nears dryness.
